What To Expect While Using Latisse ®
Latisse® is a treatment process that takes a full 16 weeks of applications to see the full effects the medication has on the eyelashes. When Latisse® is used as directed, you will be able to notice a gradual change to the lashes. Most patients start to notice some changes within 6 to 8 weeks of starting the treatments. The first change that is usually noticed, is in the colour of the lashes. Eyelashes will tend to darken from their normal colour. Thicker eyelashes is also often noticed within the first 8 weeks. Latisse ® must be used a full 12 to 16 weeks to see the full changes.
Applying Latisse ®
When you purchase your supply of Latisse®, it comes with all the applicators that you will need to administer the Latisse ® treatments. These recommendations should be considered prior to the start of application. Eyelashes should be cleaned with an oil free makeup remover and rinsed and dried prior to treatment application. Within one package, two individual sterile applicators are supplied for treatment of both eyes. After opening the sterile applicator package, you place one drop of Latisse® onto one applicator. You then gently run the applicator across the upper eyelid margins above the eyelash line. You then repeat this process for the second eye with the other sterile applicator.
If you are a contact lens wearer, it is important to remove contact lenses prior to the treatment application. Do not wear contact lenses or makeup for 30 minutes after treatment application. Using Latisse ® treatments at night, before bed is usually what works best for most people.
Do not use the same applicator to apply medication to both eyes. Cross contamination from eye to eye can cause eye infections and other issues.
When treatment is stopped, the eyelashes will return to their prior state, previous to Latisse ® treatment.
Latisse ® Treatments Are A Medication
