Clinic Update Regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic – Updated December, 2021
To help assist ALL patients, we ask that when you come to our clinic, that you don’t bring any extra visitors with you.
For more information, please call our office at (403)255-2826.
Hello to all of our valued customers and patients. Our office is keeping up with the latest news pertaining to COVID-19 and is adhering to instructions on how to protect our patients and staff as directed by the government of Alberta.
As per the mandatory public health measures put in place by the government of Alberta regarding the rise in COVID-19 cases, our office has put new protocols in place. We have reduced office occupancy. One staff member will be responsible to help one patient while they are visiting our office. When you arrive, please kindly knock or line up at our door. When a staff member is free or done helping their last patient they will come to the door to let you in. Please be aware that depending on how many people are in our office, you may have to wait outside. Also, at this time we kindly ask that you DO NOT bring extra people with you to our clinic unless they are a caregiver or you are providing care for someone else. All staff, visitors, and patients to the office are also required to wear a mask or face covering that covers both their mouth and nose upon entry into the clinic. These new office practices will remain in effect while Alberta remains in a state of a public health emergency. As this situation is fluid we may have to make further adjustments to office practices as needed.
If you have a FEVER, COUGH, SORE THROAT, or DIFFICULTY BREATHING, have COVID-19 or HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO SOMEONE WITH COVID-19 please do not visit our clinic.
Keeping Our Patients and Staff Safe!
Our office puts the health and well-being of our patients and staff first and is committed to continuing to support our collective efforts of slowing the spread of COVID-19. As a result, here are a few of our implemented office protocol to help us achieve this;
* Face Coverings – With Calgary’s new mask bylaw that came into effect August 1, 2020, all visitors and patients to the office are required to wear a mask or face covering that covers both their nose and mouth upon entry into the clinic. Our front door will remain locked and we ask that you kindly knock on the door when you arrive so we can allow you access into the building.
* Reduced Office Occupancy – We will be limiting the number of people within the office at any given time. This means that as you wait to see the doctor for your appointment you might be asked to wait in your vehicle until the doctor is ready to see you.
* Use of Barrier Shields – We now have sneeze guards installed for use between staff members and patients.
*Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – We will be following Alberta Health Service’s guidelines for the use of PPE.
*Aggressive Cleaning Procedures – We have implemented aggressive cleaning procedures. For example; the thorough cleaning and disinfection of frames after they are tried on by a patient or customer.
As the COVID-19 pandemic is still a very fluid situation, we will continue to make decisions with vigilance and from information and guidance put out by both Alberta Health Services and the Alberta College of Optometry.
We thank you for your kindness and understanding. And we look forward to seeing you in the clinic soon. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us with your questions.
Warmly,
The Doctors and Staff of the Glenmore Landing Vision Center
We do still ask that if you have a FEVER, COUGH, SORE THROAT, or DIFFICULTY BREATHING, have COVID-19 or HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO SOMEONE WITH COVID-19 please do not visit our clinic. Please phone our office with any questions about your specific situation.
