In Calgary vision care and eye health are important to maintain and will be assessed by your doctor at the time of your eye exam. It is important to assess the health of the eyes, as many eye diseases have no signs or symptoms and are often painless. Once a disease is diagnosed it is very important to have regular eye exams to help control and manage the disease. Left untreated, some conditions such as glaucoma and macular degeneration can lead to severe vision loss and in extreme cases, blindness.

At the Glenmore Landing Vision Center we provide our patients in Calgary vision care, which includes using leading edge optical technology. Our state of the art diagnostic equipment aids the doctors in disease diagnosis and management. Digital photos of the Retina can be taken at every exam. These photos remain on file and act as a baseline that your doctors can refer back to during future eye exams. A visual field test can also be performed to map any areas of vision loss and damage often caused by retinal diseases and tumors. To help in the detection of glaucoma, internal pressure checks on the inside of the eye are done routinely on patients over 18 years of age.
